Car Windshield Repair
If your car window has been cracked by a rock, you don’t have to replace your entire window. You can just repair it at a fraction of the price that you’d pay if you were to report it to your insurance company or if your insurance agent was to send you to an inexpensive repairman.
The easiest types of cracks to fix are small bulls-eye holes or cracks caused by pebbles or stones. Depending on the size of the crack in your windshield, about $60 is the average amount you will spend on repairing it, compared to about $300 to replace an entire windshield. Or, you can find a car windshield repair kit, which runs around $12.95, through the Internet, a local auto parts store, or a local windshield repair company. Read the rest of this entry »

Many Kinds Of Arts Schools Are Worth Checking Out
:: There is no shortage of places to learn a trade. Academies, universities, colleges, and art ateliers are all advertised and eagerly recruit new students. However, certain kinds of places of learning have undergone interesting transformations in recent years. The expansion of the global communications network has impacted most institutions. Arts schools in particular have seen significant shifts in numerous aspects of how they are run and what they offer.
The importance of getting a specialized kind of education is stressed in many homes. The level of education one receives often contributes to the quality of life they end up enjoying. Frequently, training in some kind of vocation is put forward as a sure fire way of making a living. Knowing certain vocations meant that ones future was a lot more stable in some ways.
Going to school was, and continues to be, seen as a means of heavily influencing ones future stability. There will always be a need for skilled people who can perform certain tasks. Likewise, particular spheres of government, literary circles, and politics are often closed without a certain level of education.
In the art world however, things are treated very differently. Until quite recently, the desire to ‘become an artist’ was not seen as profitable in many places. Even now, there are very mixed opinions about what this means. In years passed, the absence of a rich patron, or lucrative commissions could mean difficult times as an artist.
However, unprecedented advancement of technology and communications is actually having a major effect on the world of art. Because of the proliferation of things like the internet and continually updated graphics programs, things have shifted drastically. The definitions for what is considered ‘art’ are evolving regularly.
So much more than traditional ‘art’ can now be found at institutions of learning. New programs and tools in graphic design, communications design, and others are changing the way art is viewed. As a result, things like oil painting and figurative drawing are being offered right alongside computer graphics. Web design and online art classes are promoted opposite sculpting and ceramics.
Many factors can come into play when looking for a school to study art. Things like location, choices in terms of courses, pricing, etc., all tend to factor in. But, depending on what one is looking to do or experience, choices can generally be narrowed down. Some places tend to be geared more toward the world of computer generated design and art than others. Some manage to mix the traditional and contemporary in a way that appeals to those looking to experience both worlds.
When it comes to arts schools, there are numerous models to choose from. Examples run the gamut from private institutions to accredited colleges to smaller ateliers. Many schools now offer online courses and entire degrees can be pursued over the internet. If becoming an artist appeals to you, some of these schools may be worth looking into. At the very least, one will come away with a greater knowledge of the world and a finer appreciation of the artistic community.

How to Steer Clear from High Risk Auto Insurance
If you recently discovered that you have been tagged as a high risk driver, you have good reason to take caution. Getting this type of label tagged under your name can be problematic since it means that companies will need you to get high risk auto insurance as opposed to just a simple policy. Once you obtain this special policy, it means that you will need to shell out more cash compared to regular policy owners. Of course, before anything else, the first thing that comes to mind would be how you ended up being labeled as a high risk driver in the first place. If you have been wondering this, here are some reasons that companies will give you high risk auto insurance.
First, companies look at demographics. Normally, women are tagged as safer drivers compared to men and urban dwellers much safer than those living in the city. Moreover, adults are considered less risky compared to teenagers.
Second, credit history or financial standing of the driver is also taken into consideration when companies classify high risk drivers. Insurance companies would prefer clients that can pay on time, although delayed payments might also work to their advantage since you would garner interests. It is important to fix your credit history and financial standing to make sure that you will not be labeled a high risk driver.
Third, driving history would also be taken into consideration. Committing road violations as well as getting speeding tickets can lower your credibility as a driver and tarnish your record. Insurance companies can pull up these records and possibly offer you high risk auto insurance for disobeying traffic rules. Hence, it is important that you maintain a clean driving record.
These are just a few of the factors why you would be labeled as a risky driver and offered high risk auto insurance by premium providers.
Despite being tagged as a high risk driver, there are still several things that you can do to help lower premium rates. For instance, shopping around for the best premium rates by getting free insurance quotes can be a big help. You can also start becoming a more responsible driver. Show insurance providers that you are doing what you can to improve your driving skills. This will help them be more inclined to provide you with discounts later on.
Just because you have been tagged as a high risk driver, does not mean that you cannot do anything to improve your situation. Follow the tips above and you will definitely see some improvement.
Herbert to make Spa 24 hours debut in an Audi
Former F1 driver Johnny Herbert is set to make his debut at the Spa 24 Hour race in July racing an Audi R8 LMS car.
46-year-old Herbert is an experience endurance racer – he won the Le Mans 24 Hour race in 1991 and also has three grand prix wins to his name.
He joins fellow former F1 pilots Mark Blundell, Stefan Johansson and Indy 500 winner Eddie Cheever in an all-star line-up at the United Autosports team for the Belgian event.
Herbert has experience racing an R8 prototype – he took eight wins from 34 starts in the European Le Mans Series between 2001 and 2004 – but has plans for a test behind the wheel of this race-prepared supercar at the Spa circuit next week.
Johnny is excited to get back behind the wheel: “To get the opportunity to do a 24 hour race again is wonderful and especially as it’s at Spa which has always been one of my favourite race tracks.
“I’ve never competed in the Spa 24 Hours so I’m really looking forward to that aspect as well as competing for United Autosports for the first time and reacquainting myself with Audi.”
The Spa race will mark Herbert’s first 24 hour event since taking part in the Dubai 24 Hour race two years ago.
